The Dream Begins

Cecile’s passion for glass began during her recovery

process from breast cancer when she decided to take up glass fusing and beading.

Cecile worked with both Dichroic and art glass. Dichroic glass has an iridescent quality and reflects colours as it is turned in different directions towards the light. She kiln fused her pieces and some underwent several firings until the desired effect was achieved.

In 2007, Cecile left a career in the city as a corporate auditor to pursue her artistic calling in the medium of glass.  She also expanded her line to incorporate beads, crystal and gemstones into her creations.

Cecile started to teach and opened her own jeweler and bead store in Meaford, Ontario, Canada, which was her studio for custom design work, repairs and instructional classes and demonstrations.

Her natural affinity with colour and design is evident in her work. Her spirit and her passion for life live on through her legacy and her designs.  You still can acquire one of her unique and collectable, limited edition fused and dichroic glass pieces that are available at Cecile’s. They reflect light and colour and a vibrancy of life that perfectly symbolizes and memorializes Cecile’s sparkling personality and zest for life.

The Dream Lives On

Those of us, who were lucky enough to know Cecile, understand the love and passion she had for her art and bead shop.   No one could have invested more energy in her work than Cecile.   Sadly, Cecile’s battle with cancer ended last October in 2009 at home with her husband Neil at her side.  Cecile’s passion for the business lives on with Neil who continues to fulfill her dream.

Neil had a long and successful career in commercial art and photography which spanned over 35 years.  His vast experience in the creative arts, colour and design industry has now transcended into jewellery art and design as Cecile spent the last year of her life mentoring Neil in this medium.  Neil has now taken Cecile’s to a new level, expanding the store, increasing inventory and carrying on Cecile’s vision of teaching, supporting local artists and supplying jewellery enthusiasts and artisans from all over Southern & Central Ontario, and all around Georgian Bay.
